When homeowners seek an ideal heating and cooling solution, they often prioritize energy efficiency to reduce their utility costs. As you embark on the journey of selecting a new system, your first point of consideration should be the SEER rating.
SEER, an acronym for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, serves as a critical metric for assessing the peak efficiency of an air conditioning unit. A higher SEER rating directly correlates to greater efficiency, but it’s crucial to bear in mind that the system type can also influence this aspect.
Conventional central air systems typically function at a single speed, cycling on to reach the thermostat-set temperature and shutting off once that point is reached. During the off cycles, the indoor temperature naturally fluctuates, leading to recurrent cycling of the system to sustain the desired temperature.
In contrast, a variable speed system operates at varying speeds based on the heating or cooling demand. This adaptable modulation allows the system to work at a higher speed when rapid temperature adjustment is required and then automatically slows down to maintain the set temperature. This unique feature results in reduced energy consumption as the system doesn’t constantly switch on and off.
So, even though both an 18 SEER conventional central air conditioner and an 18 SEER variable speed air conditioner share the same rating, the variable speed system proves more efficient over time. To enhance SEER ratings and energy efficiency, opting for a variable speed system like a ductless mini split heat pump is a wise choice.

ENERGY SAVINGS
The Motion Detection Sensor (MDS) on our WindFree 3.0 optimizes energy savings and comfort in any space. Users can choose between direct airflow, to have air follow the user around the room, or indirect airflow, where the user can have the air blow away from them in the room. When the MDS recognizes that there are no occupants in the space, the system will automatically implement energy saving measures to reduce energy use.
TOTAL CONTROL
Our WindFree™* 3.0 unit comes with built-in Wi-Fi, allowing voice control with Bixby 2.0^ and monitoring from anywhere with an internet connection through Samsung’s SmartThings app. Users can remotely regulate temperature, adjust settings, receive real time updates about performance and daily energy usage, as well as troubleshoot solutions when a repair is needed.
FREEZE WASH
The Freeze Wash function allows users to maintain optimal performance with the push of a button. Freeze Wash quickly frosts the air side of the indoor unit heat exchanger, defrosts the ice, and then dries the coil washing away dirt and dust.
SEAMLESS OPERATION
AI Auto Mode monitors factors such as indoor temperature, outdoor temperature, set temperature, and operating time to learn the patterns within your home to automatically adjust system operation to maximize occupant comfort, modernizing residential HVAC systems.
IMPROVED SERVICEABILITY

Reusable Filter
All of our wall mount indoor unit options come with a washable, reusable filter located on the top of the unit, making it easy to remove, clean and put back. PM 1.0 Filter
PM stands for particulate matter, which is measured in microns, also known as a micrometer, which is a unit of length equal to one millionth of a meter. We use this to measure the diameter of particulate matter in the air that can be inhaled and cause health problems. Some of these pollutants come from outdoors, and others come from indoor sources and activities such as cooking, cleaning, secondhand smoke, pets and more. Our WindFreeTMM* 3.0i puts an emphasis on indoor air quality, with a built in PM 1.0 electrostatic filter capable of removing ultra-fine dust particles as small as 1 micron.
